QaMPS, led by its President Dr. Huda Al Naemi, organized training in Radiation Protection for Radiation Workers from Hamad Medical Corporation. This course is a legal requirement to renew the license for radiation workers in Qatar.
The course was conducted early in February for 2 days and attended by more than 100 staff (radiologists, technologists and radiology nurses) mostly from the Clinical Imaging Department. There had been valuable discussion that took place within the course of the training sessions.
The main speaker of the course was Prof. John Damilakis, Chairman Department of Medical Physics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Crete, Greece and Vice Chair of International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP). Medical Physicists from Qatar, Dr. Hassan Kharita and Mr. Mahmoud Tarbiah also participated as speakers in this prestigious event.
