After suspending the conduction of courses for four months due to the CoViD-19 pandemic, Qatar Medical Physics Society (QaMPS) in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), restarted the training courses in radiation protection for radiation workers. This course is a legal requirement for radiation workers in Qatar to renew their licenses.
These one-day courses were conducted by following the current government guidelines on educational gatherings. Organized entry by checking temperature and provision of hand sanitizers spare masks and gloves.
The courses accommodated up to 40 radiation workers in each day. Several radiologists, technologists, and radiology nurses attended the course, which was followed by a valuable discussion between attendees and the medical physicists speakers with regards to occupational exposure and workers protection and other topics which covered during the course.
QaMPS will continue its endeavor to deliver its mission to promote medical physics and uphold patient safety and care through educational activities not only for its members but also for other healthcare professionals, amidst pandemic.
